The score

The Warner-Starke Return on Value score

ROV scores a health or life science company 0 to 10 on four pillars. Each pillar is a set of named metrics. Each metric's input is traced to a cited source. It is a company-quality score, not a fit score. Fit is computed separately, for each fund's mandate.

Built by healthcare investment operators. Clinical evidence, the regulatory path and the payer landscape are scored on their own terms, not folded into a generic growth model.

How the number is built
0–10
  1. Each metric gets a score from a cited input, by a written rule.
  2. Each pillar is the weighted mean of its metrics.
  3. The composite is the weighted mean of the four pillars.
  4. A set of failure signals can cap the composite. A great team cannot outscore a missing regulatory path.
  5. Fewer sourced metrics means a wider confidence band, shown next to the score.

Rules, not vibes
Scoring rules are written down and applied the same way each time.Judgment goes into the rules, not into each score. The scorecard shows the rule next to the input.
