Privacy policy
theDealStream runs a marketplace that matches healthcare founders with investors and prepares research reports on healthcare companies. This policy says what we collect, how we use it, who sees it, and what you can do about it. Questions go to the contact at the end.
What we collect
- When you ask for an account: your name, your organisation, your work email, the website you give us and the title and description we read from it, and anything you write in the note.
- When you use the site: which companies and funds you open, which reports you order or read, which introductions you ask for, and the sign-in sessions on your account. The site keeps a log of requests, with addresses, for security.
- When a founder opens a data room: the documents the founder places there, and a record of who opened which document and when.
- Public research: facts about companies and funds that we read from public sources, each cited to the page it came from.
How we use it
To run your account, to match you with the other side of the table, to prepare the reports you order, to show founders which investors looked at their company, to answer your requests, and to keep the service secure. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Founder documents and AI
Documents a founder places in a data room are read by software that runs on theDealStream's own machines. They are never sent to a public or third-party AI service, and they are never used to train one.
Only the figures a founder approves appear in a report, and each one is cited to the document and page it came from. Public research on a company uses public sources only.
A founder can remove a data room at any time. Removal deletes the documents and the figures read from them.
Who sees it
- A founder's data room is seen only by the investors the founder admits, and by theDealStream staff who prepare the founder's report.
- An investor who opens a company's listing or report is shown to that founder by name and fund.
- Account details are seen by theDealStream staff who run the service.
- We use hosting and email providers to run the service. They process data on our instructions and do not use it for their own purposes.
- We disclose data when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Account data stays while the account is open and for a short period after it closes. Data-room documents stay until the founder removes them or closes the account. Security logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold on you. You can close your account. A founder can remove a data room. Write to the contact below and we will answer within a reasonable time.
Cookies
The site sets up to three cookies: one that keeps you signed in, one that remembers your browsing session and plan view for up to a year, and one that opens a demo link you were sent. None is used for advertising or tracking.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters to you, we will say so on this page and, for account holders, by email.
