A theDealStream report, score or match is research. It is not investment, legal, tax or medical advice, and it is not an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any security. theDealStream is not a registered investment adviser, broker or dealer.

How a score is made

The ROV score is the output of a written set of rules applied to cited inputs. The inputs come from public sources and, where a founder has opened a data room, from documents the founder approved. A score is as good as its inputs on the day it was made. It is not a prediction of returns.

What a citation means

Each figure in a report is cited to the page it was read from, and that page was checked against the sentence it supports. A citation says where a figure came from. It does not say the source is right. Sources can be wrong, out of date or withdrawn.

Founder-reported information

Figures marked as founder-reported or hand-pulled come from the founder's own documents. We state them as reported. We do not audit them.

Fit scores and matches

A fit score compares a company with a fund's stated mandate. It says how well they line up on the dimensions we compare. It does not say the fund will invest or the founder will accept.

Your decision

Whether to invest, raise, introduce or decline is your decision. Do your own diligence. Nothing on this site replaces it.
